Help Me! I'm too Tired to Think.

I'm beat.

After completing the Breast Cancer 3-Day last weekend, I'm physically and emotionally exhausted. And it didn't help that I returned home to an empty fridge, piles of laundry, a messy house, and the anticipation of a busy work week. Bah! (Why is it that any semblance of order vanishes when mama's away?)

So rather than hit you with the usual "blah...blah...blah," I'm asking for YOUR input.

I'm turning 29 in a little less than two weeks. (Yikes!) I'd like to compile a fun list of "30 Things to Do Before I Turn 30." Any recommendations? How shall I spend the last year of my fleeting 20s?

I'm trying to keep the list fairly realistic. A second honeymoon in France is unlikely to fit in our budget, for example. And I have no interest in risking my life by base jumping, sky diving, or performing other stunts that involve speed or heights.

But I guess I'm stifling your creativity...

What would you do during the last year of your 20s? What did you do? What do you wish you did?

Suggest away!

one thing I always thought would be fun to do is take a pottery class where you spin it on the wheel and get your fingers dirty. learning a dance would be fun- salsa anyone?

Before I'm 30 I know I would like to have a fun weekend with my girlfriends--- maybe heading up north to a cabin- cook up a storm, drink wine, talk about life and have some good laughs! Sounds easy but to get everyone together it will take some planning.

I would say do anything to enjoy or relish vanity. Cause after 30 is when the little wrinkles seemed to start staying even when I stopped smiling. Suddenly I didn't feel like I could get away with wearing that cute top from the juniors department. All the rest of the stuff I think I enjoyed even more after 30...but wearing young looking clothes, having edgy hair...all that good stuff seemed a bit less appropriate after 30 :)

Cooking Class!!! Let's take one together. I've always wanted to take a cooking class because I suck at it and you're pretty good, but I'm sure there's more to learn. What do you say?

I was going to suggest a pottery class! But other than that, I think taking a really fun cooking class would be fun. Or an informational wine class. Don't forget to subscribe to Redbook (my favorite magazine for the over-29 set). When I turned 30, I really just had a 29 + 1 party. I'm up to 29 + 9 this year!

I echo the sentiments already mentioned here. Especially about the vanity aspect (referencing the junior's department). I see cute tops, cute shoes and clever t-shirts and now ask ... am I too old to wear that? I'd also suggest taking a trip by yourself somewhere. It doesn't have to be a plane trip, or even be somewhere that far away, just somewhere new. I really find I don't have time alone as much anymore. That may have more to do with Grace though, than being over 30 : )
